We recently had the great pleasure of eating out at this fabulous cafe, the second of three finalists in the Best Family Dining category for the Celebration of Sussex Life Awards. As the judge, my job has just got a whole lot harder!
Not only was the food fantastic (home-cooked and locally sourced with plenty of options for the whole family) the service was second to none. And food tastes so much better when it’s served by genuinely happy, friendly staff!
We had the spiced falafel burger, minted pea risotto, Cowdray Park beef burger, a couple of delicious seasonal salads and ‘the best chips ever’ according to our son. I finished off with a turmeric latte and a couple of moreish raw ‘bites’, which were right up my street. We chose to eat inside, but there’s also a lovely dog-friendly outdoor terrace with a little children’s play area – great for using up any extra energy before browsing in the Farm Shop.
Whatever the result of these Awards, this cafe is a great family friendly place to visit. Best of luck to the Cowdray Farm Shop Cafe and see you at the Awards ceremony in September.
